There must be a horizontal strap on the mask. Inverted 'T' straps are legal as they do have a horizontal strap.The September 2008 rules changes are available. USFA Rules Changes September 2008 Note to Divisions: Important Qualifying InformationThe Board of Directors at its September annual meeting approved the following: Fencers who qualify for Div. I-A and are rated C or lower will qualify automatically to Div. II at Summer Nationals. At the Divsion level, fencers who qualify in the division's Div. II qualifier and are rated D or lower are automatically qualified to Div. III at Summer Nationals. This partially reinstates pathways eliminated in 2006.
